Wheelchair Access

Contact Us

With few exceptions, beach houses in Texas must be built 8-9 feet above the ground. This can make access difficult for our guests that have difficulty walking up stairs.

We have added wheel chair ramps to the following houses so our guests will have an easier time enjoying their vacations.

Texas Giant (9-bedrooms, Front Row)
Has a wheel chair ramp. Interior doors to a bathroom and two bedrooms are 32” wide and wide enough for most wheelchairs. Living room, dining room and large deck overlook the Gulf of Mexico.
Texas Star (7-bedrooms, Front Row)
Has a wheel chair ramp. Interior doors to a bathroom and two bedrooms are 30” wide and wide enough for most wheelchairs. Living room, dining room and large deck overlook the Gulf of Mexico.
Sand Dollar (5-bedrooms, Front Row)
Has a wheel chair ramp. Interior doors to a bathroom and bedroom are 30” wide and wide enough for most wheelchairs. Living room, dining room and large covered deck overlook the Gulf of Mexico.
Sand Castle (4-bedrooms, Front Row)
Has a wheel chair ramp. Interior doors to a bathroom and two bedrooms are 30” wide and wide enough for most wheelchairs. Very large covered deck overlooks Gulf of Mexico.
Sea Castle (4-bedrooms, Across street from the Pedestrian Beach)
Has a wheel chair ramp. Interior doors to a bathroom and two bedrooms are 30” wide. Large front deck overlooks the Gulf.
Mar Vista (2 bedrooms, Front Row)
Has a wheel chair ramp. Bedrooms and bathroom with shower have 28” doors. Living areas, master bedroom, and large front deck overlook the Gulf.
Mar Vista / Dos Vistas (4 bedrooms, Front Row)
These are two separate units with privacy walls separating them from each other. If you elect to rent both units, a 3-foot door can be opened on the porch so that both sides would have access to the Mar Vista's wheelchair ramp.
Sail Fish (3 bedrooms, Second Row on the Pedestrian Beach)
Has a wheel chair ramp. Interior doors are not large enough to accommodate a wheel chair. Beach is easily visible from living room, two bedrooms, and front deck. Ramp will be available this fall.
Sail Fish / Star Fish (6 bedrooms, Second Row on the Pedestrian Beach)
These are two separate houses. If you elect to rent both houses, a gate can be opened on the porches so that both sides would have access to the Sail Fish’s wheelchair ramp.
Captain's Lookout (2 bedrooms, 3 blocks off beach)

Unlike most beach houses, this house is not raised 8 or 9 feet off the ground. In other words, the first floor of this two-story house is at ground level.

The first floor of the Captain’s Lookout has a living room, a bathroom with shower, kitchen, and a screened porch. The living room has a couch that converts into a nice quality queen-sized bed. Interior doors are 30” wide.
